Each year, Theta Beta selects one young woman who has represented the ideals of the White Cross and lived Sigma Chi’s core values of Friendship, Justice and Learning while making her own personal contributions to the Fraternity to become Sweetheart of our chapter.

Along with Sigma Chi Chapters having their own Sweethearts, Sigma Chi elects an International Sweetheart every two years at Grand Chapter to represent the entire Fraternity as a whole. The International Sweetheart of Sigma Chi has held a distinguished role in our organization since Barbara Tanner was first crowned in 1948 by Significant Sig John Wayne, (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 1929). Long after her official term is over, our Sweetheart always maintains a special place in the Fraternity.
